Competitive Program

U10-U18

The philosophy of the Quincy United travel program is to develop players who reach their fullest potential through the implementation of a structured curriculum by quality coaches in a competitive environment. The travel program will emphasize technical and tactical proficiency coupled with character development and community involvement.

There are two major portions of our competitive program. The first of which is our Youth Travel Program which is for players U10-U14. Due to the nuances and demands of the high school soccer player, the second portion is our High School Travel Program.

Youth Travel Program

Our Youth Travel Program begins with club tryouts during the early portion of the summer. Teams are finalized shortly thereafter in preparation for the start of the fall season. The fall component will begin in the final weeks of August and continue through the middle of October. Teams will train twice weekly for 6+ weeks culminating with entry into a fall tournament which will take place during October. A formal break will commence for the months of November & December as players are given the opportunity to rest, enjoy other sport participation, or engage in optional trainings if desired. Team practices will begin again indoor in January through February one day per week until the weather clears sufficiently to move outdoors. The spring component will begin in late February and continue through the beginning of May. Teams will train twice weekly for 10+ weeks, participate in a Saint Louis soccer league (SLYSA), and compete in two spring tournaments.

High School Travel Program

The High School Travel Program is catered to the needs of the competitive player at that stage in their development. The overall program is designed to challenge and refine the best players in an effort to equip them to play at the next level while providing opportunities for players of all abilities. The template contains very intentional steps to expose the players to the college soccer scene while informing them how to make college soccer participation a reality.

Tryouts for these programs will take place in the early portion of the summer. There are currently several substantial differences in the structures between the girls and boys programs.

The HS boys’ program begins after the conclusion of the high school season and progresses through the beginning of May. Teams will train outdoor twice weekly, weather permitting, from November through May. The competitive calendar for this program includes three tournaments (showcases for the older groups) and participation in a Saint Louis soccer league (SLYSA).

The HS girls’ program is divided into two separate offerings. The first will take place during the summer and will include training twice weekly for 8+ weeks along with participation in two tournaments (primarily showcases). The second will take place during the winter and will include training outdoor twice weekly, weather permitting, from November through February along with participation in two tournaments (primarily showcases).
