Developmental Programs

U6-U10

The philosophy of the Quincy United developmental program is to implement a progressive curriculum that will teach players the technical facets of the game in a safe and fun environment. These technical components will be taught by quality instructors and will provide a foundation for further soccer success.

There are three programs in place at this age level. They are as follows:

  • Fall Developmental League: An 8-week program that will combine the teaching of technical skills with practical application in small-sided games. This will be enjoyed in a fun, positive, and safe environment. Fall Developmental League is structured for boys and girls U6-U10 and is designed to improve a player’s technical skills. The primary focus at this level is to develop individual skills that are critical to becoming a successful soccer player. In all, participants will enjoy a total of 8 technical training sessions and 6 games. All groups for trainings and scrimmages are separated by age but are constantly varied to ensure the focus is on fun and development.
  • Winter Mini-Clinics: The winter mini-clinics are one day indoor events at a low cost and commitment level. These events are designed to introduce the game to kids who have varied previous soccer experience, teach beginning foundation skills and enjoy a great time playing fun mini-games. These events are open to all kids U6-U10 regardless of level of experience or ability.
  • Spring Developmental League: An 8-week program that will combine the teaching of technical skills with practical application in small-sided games. The factor that distinguishes this program from the Fall Developmental League is the integration of the Quincy University soccer players into the weekly practices. The high energy presentation of practices by college soccer players combined with the session venue at the QU game field creates an exciting atmosphere for the participants.
