Quincy United Indoor Soccer Tournament Rules

 

                      ***  Please note: See highlighted rule change 2/1/08

  • No more than 6 or less than 4 players.

  • Time duration:  22 minute halves (running clock).

  • Time outs:  No team time outs, only referee time outs.

  • All players must wear proper soccer attire:  socks, shin guards, shorts, shirt.

  • No jewelry is allowed.

  • Substitution:  substitutions are made as the game is being played; once a player comes off as play continues, the sub may come on.  Goalie subs are also done during play (no play stoppage).

  • All out of bounds or fouls are indirect kicks.

  • If the ball hits the top net or structure, the ball will be placed on the other team’s white line.

  • Once the defensive team takes possession they have 10 seconds to get the ball past the white line.

  • Once the ball is placed after a foul or out-of-bounds the kicking team has 5 seconds to play the ball.

  • If a player plays the ball after a foul or restart it must touch another player before he/she touches it again.

  • All fouls are indirect kicks.  No offensive player may stand in within 1 yard of the goal line on restarts.

  • Any goal shot behind the attaching goals white line is 2 points.   (If the shot hits another player on the attaching team, goal will count for only 1 point)

  • Absolutely NO sliding.

  • Fouls:  A player may receive a 2 minute or 5 minute penalty if they commit a flagrant foul.  A player receiving 2 penalties in 1 game will sit the remainder of that game and the next scheduled game.  Any player kicked out of a game will be suspended for the next 2 games.  Any player kicked out for fighting will receive a 2 game suspension.  Any player kicked  out twice for fighting will be suspended from play for 1     calendar year.

  • Power Play:  During a power play situation, a team having 2 or 3 players in the penalty box while being scored on, the player having the least amount of unexpired time penalty shall return to the field of play.  

  • Team Time Penalties:  Illegal substitutions, leaving the bench for confrontation, team warnings, referee crease violation, and bench misconduct.

  • Goalies:  Any person playing goal may slide anywhere inside the goalie box.  Goalies can pick the ball up if played to them by their own team if between their red line and the goal.  Goalies can throw or pass the ball with their feet.  Goalies can charge on all penalty kicks.

  • The ball can’t cross the 3 lines in the air or it will be placed on the white line by the opposing team.

  • If there is a color conflict the home team must change shirts.  The home team is the first team listed on the schedule.

  • The referee has the right to terminate any game if he/she sees fit at any time during the game.

  • ALL TEAMS MUST HAVE A 21 YEAR OLD ON THE BENCH.

  • No more than 2 coaches are allowed on the bench side.

  • Any team showing up 5 minutes after scheduled game time will forfeit the game.

  • Absolutely no cussing.  It can result in an ejection from the game.
