can be selected by each team.
Finance: No
Report.
Fundraising:
No high school parents picked up cards to sell. Their
team fees will be due January 15, 2008. Developmental
League parents are picking up cards.
Eric Peters, U11 Girls Coach commented that he didn’t
receive good communication about the cards. He
suggested having team managers’ hand out the cards, and
questioned why we didn’t have families sell enough cards
to pay their entire player fees. He reported mostly
positive comments from his parents.
Rules and Bylaws:
Activities: No
report.
Equipment:
Dave reported that he reviewed different design samples
for the QUSC Logo on the new balls the Club will be
giving to players this spring. Regarding player ball
bags, Dave said the Admiral bag may not be available, he
is reviewing other brands. Dave needs to know final
roster numbers for each team.

and 15th, 16th and 17th

New chairperson is still needed.
Newsletter: Chairperson
is needed. Eric Peters reported that his wife, Dawn,
has experience putting together newsletters and is
willing to help.
Website:
Jim
Murphy reported that a flyer for the indoor tournament
is on the website.
Vice-President’s
Report
Greg reported that the only requirement for State Cup
play is that more than 50% of team members have to live
in the state. State Cup tournament play is very
time/travel involved. Teams, based on their wins, may
travel consecutive weekends to the tournament. Greg
recommends every team eligible should plan to
participate in State Cup tournament play. Steve
Venvertloh questioned rule “23” concerning “team
eligibility”. Steve thought teams have to be in an IL
league to play State Cup in that state. Greg will
research and report at the December meeting.
Greg reported that he met with Mike Parks (Quincy Park
District), Holly Cain, Amy Ernst, Chuck Bevelheimer, and
Dax, with Stony Creek Inn regarding soccer field
development. QUSC asked at this meeting what we need to
do to help accomplish the development of new soccer
fields in Quincy. Department of Natural Resources says
dollars are not available, and that the Quincy area
doesn’t meet need requirements. DNR doesn’t care about
the quality of the fields available in Quincy, that we
have them is all they note. Fields they are referring
to is Bob Bangert Park, Boots Bush, and Harrison. The
process to make change is very slow; spring of 2009 is
the earliest we can even think about moving forward.
Discussion about additional soccer fields in Quincy took
place, Greg explained past problems the Club has
experienced with QSL and field availability.
Dax
and Holly Cain are open to presentation about having
rooms booked for our tournament through the hotel/motel
group and QUSC receive money back for the process. The
Quincy tournament brings approximately $750,000 to $1
million dollars to the Quincy area.
Director of
Operations Report
Tryouts for the high school division will be held
starting at 8:00 A Sunday, December 2nd at K
& L Arena. Information is on Website also.
Director of Coaching
Report
No
report.
President’s Report
Jim
reported that the tournament paperwork deadline to IYSA
is December 20.
GotSoccer.com is offering advertisement for upcoming
tournaments for $500. Jim asked the board their
thoughts on advertising our tournament with them. A
decision was not made.
Old Business
New Business
Steve Venvertloh reported that he contacted Ramona
Barber, professional speaker, about coming to Quincy to
speak to parents/players about college bound athletes.
He believes her to be very valuable to our older teams.
She is available to come to Quincy March 14-16. Greg
Reis reported that he has had her come to Quincy and
speak before. He believes it would be money well
spent. It was decided that QUSC would be willing to pay
part of her fee to come to Quincy. Steve will check
with QHS and QND about sharing the cost. She will be
available to speak to a group as well as to individual
families. Families would pay for their individual
session. Her fee is $500
